Remuneration: £30,000 - £32,000 + up to £20,000 Commission

The role of the National Account Manager – DIY Chains will involve:

• Field sales role promoting our clients distributed range for the professional trade
• Tasked with growing sales within DIY Chains and DIY Multiples across the UK
• New role for the business
• Targeting a mixture of accounts that have been identified to have excellent growth prospects and new DIY Chains and DIY Multiples prospecting accounts
• Promoting a huge portfolio in excess of 25,000 products including; ironmongery, hardware, decorating products, electricals, gardening, plumbing, pest control, tools, accessories etc.
• Analysing sales data and trends
• Creating and executing a business plans to ensure our client is the supplier of choice
• Seeking out incremental sales and margin opportunities
• Following up on leads generated by In-house account managers and marketing (loads of office support)
• Small number of accounts to inherit, but this will predominantly be a new business development role

The ideal applicant will be a National Account Manager – DIY Chains with:

• Field sales experience working within DIY multiples and DIY chains
• Ideally with a network of contacts within DIY multiples and DIY chains
• Preferably sold a mix of associated products e.g. ironmongery, hardware, decorating products, electricals, gardening, plumbing, pest control, tools, accessories etc.
• New business aptitude but with the ability to conduct retained account management
• Proven track record of growing accounts/ business
• Excellent sales, negotiation and presentation skills
• Commercially aware
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK as required
