Remuneration: £30,000 Neg. + 20% Bonus

The role of the Area Sales Manager – Paint, EWI & Render will involve:
• Field sales position promoting predominantly architectural coatings/ paint, and EWI/ Renders, but also woodcare, wallcoverings and sundries
• Targeting end user contractors on construction sites, primarily painting contactors but also renderers/ plasterers, prison service contractors, NHS contractors, med-large decorating companies etc.
• Working alongside a multi-site account manager, a key account manager and a national main contactor field sales professional
• 75% account managing circa 200 customers
• 25% new business development
• Revenue responsibility of circa £2m, currently achieving 96% of budget
• Recruiting two/ three new customer accounts per month
• Targeted to achieve £75,000-£80,000 of new business revenue
• Fulfilling orders via wholly owned decorating centre
• Calling on painting & decorators sites, as well as local councils, schools, maintenance departments, construction sites, new builds and refurbishments
• Selling direct to contractors, typically five customer calls per day
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Paint, EWI & Render with:
• Minimum of two years field sales experience targeting contractors
• Ideally from the paint/ decorating industry, but also open to the building / construction industry
• Excellent relationship building / account management skills
• Product experience is not required
• Construction site experience
• Ability to think on your feet
• Team player, must be able to build excellent relationships internally, especially with the multi-site account manager, key account manager and a national main contactor field sales professional
• Ideally sold to different sized organisations from one man bands to large corporate clients (not worked in a stockist environment calling on merchants)
• Comfortable visiting client sites and liaising with various painting & decorating contractors, local councils, schools, maintenance departments etc
• Comfortable with using a CRM system, and analysing date for pre & post customer visits
