The role of the Area Sales Manager Hard Landscaping & Heavyside Building Products will involve:

• Field sales role, selling a range of hard landscaping building products including: flagstones, block paving, walling, kerbs, edgings & accessories
• Responsible for circa 300 heavyside builders merchant branches (approx 25 key “A” branches, 100 medium sized “B” branches and the rest will be small “C” branches) some of the smaller branches will be services from the head office telesales team
• 80% of your time account managing existing customers, 20% new business development
• 80% branches of nationals such as Travis Perkins and Selco and 20% branches of independent builders merchants
• New area created through the reduction of 3 territories bordering London
• Anticipated revenue responsibility will be circa £1m-£2m
• Typical order value between £2,000-£15,000
• Managing price increases in line with new company strategy to improve profitability of the business

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Hard landscaping & Heavyside Building Products with:

• Field sales landscaping background and sold landscaping products
• Also open to heavyside building materials to builders merchants
• Knowledge of hard landscaping including: flagstones, block paving, walling, kerbs, edgings & accessories would be ideal
• Contacts within builders merchants is not essential
• Proven track record in construction field sales territory management
• Ideally worked for a manufacturer, may consider a builders merchant rep with loads of contacts
• Previous experience of selling into branches of national heavyside builders merchants would be ideal
• Proactive nature, not looking for a “milk round”
