Remuneration: £33,000neg + commission giving OTE circa £60,000 - £100,000

The role Technical Sales Executive – Fixings & Fasteners will involve:

• Field sales position selling a high quality range of fixings & fastenings
• Selling to main contractors from the largest in the industry downwards, and specialist sub-contractors across housebuilding, industrial and commercial construction projects
• Majority of your time will be spent generating new business and developing the relationship where the service and knowledge becomes more important than the price
• Inheriting a patch that suits your location and/or travel preferences
• Dealing with a wide range of order values
• Understanding the construction application and requirements of the customer and then identifying the appropriate products for the specific application
• Attending the relevant training courses to ensure that you have a ‘finger on the pulse’ understanding of the market

The ideal applicant will be a Technical Sales Executive – Fixings & Fasteners

• Must have sold fixings & fastenings
• Somebody on the up in their career (no journeymen)
• Must be willing to cold call
• An understanding of the different trades in the construction market, market trends and the desire to make sure the business remains ahead of its competitors
• Skills to spot an opportunity within a sales pitch, for example assessing equipment on a site and highlighting the benefits of alternative products to do the job quicker, more cost-efficiently or quicker
• Strong negotiation skills with an analytical mindset ensuring you pay attention to the finer details of products/sales
