Remuneration: £35,000-£45,000neg (depending on experience) +uncapped commission

Benefits: £450 car allowance and full benefits package

The role of Business Development Manager – Fire & Security Products will involve:

• Field sales role selling the design, supply install and commissioning of our client range of fire & security products
• Selling directly to end user in markets such as: waste and recycling, food processing, wood processing, waste storage, aviation, plants, petrochemical, power stations, energy from waste facilities, construction, all manufacturing facilities that have process electrical control panels
• Pitching at a senior level to managing directors, senior operations directors, production directors and senior facilities managers
• Majority of time spent winning new supply, design and installation contracts and securing opportunities to tender for new installations
• Targeted to achieve £1m revenue
• Targeted 3/4 customer visits per week (quality over quantity), securing 1 of these per week
• Dealing with order values which can range from £10k - £500k however typical projects with be around £30k-£100k
• Focus of 100% customer retention rate
• Working closely with Managing Director as sole Business Development Manager
• Working from home office if located more than 1 hour away from HQ with minimum 3 days per week visiting clients or arranging online meetings
• Will be required at HQ on a monthly basis to track progress i.e. won projects and sales pipeline
• Although not responsible for pricing, this will be structured by the senior management team, it is expected that you will know how to put proposals together and deliver them successfully to clients (formats of proposals and layout will be provided)

The ideal applicant will be a Business Development Manager – Fire & Security Products experience with:

• Must have proven sales / business development track record selling fire detection & suppression systems, fire protection equipment and understand capabilities of fire protection systems
• Must have sold fire protection solutions / products into waste & recycling, food processing, energy industries and general manufacturing industries (open to product manufacturers background if you’ve also sold services of an installation team)
• Must be able to provide their own existing customer base to achieve immediate success and to meet strict commercial deliverables within a short period
• Ideally sold fire detection systems using IP or CCTV based camera systems
• Must be able to develop a sales pipeline and accurate forecasting
• Must be able to put together technical / complex proposals
• Ideally understand installation drawings and confidently assess fire risks on site
• Ideally be able to upsell all products lines
• Self-starter hit the ground running mentality individual and a proven winner
