Area to be covered: Wales and South West
Remuneration: £45,0000£55,000 + 20-25% bonus

The role of the Specification Sales Manager – Access Covers & Gratings will involve:
• Field sales position, selling a high end manufactured range of access covers and gratings
• 40-45% of your time influencing specifiers (approx. half of this time with asset owners within local authorities, telecom, fibre companies etc. other half consulting engineers, civil engineers, architects and M&E consultants)
• 40-45% selling into main contractors, civil contractors, groundworkers and D&B contractors
• 10-15% Civil and drainage merchants
• Targeting utilities (not water), telecoms highways, civil engineering and construction projects
• 80% of the projects are replacement
• Inheriting an area performing well against budget expectation
• £10m+ ledger responsibility
• Managing supply chain all the way through the project lifecycle
• Typical highways and local authority link road schemes can be worth £20m+ with an anticipated drainage value to our client of £10,000+
• Following up on Glenigan and ABI leads
• Three month product induction
The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager – Access Covers & Gratings with:
• Must have a proven technical field sales track record within the civil engineering industry
• Knowledge of access covers, gully gratings, kerb drainage, surface boxes, channel gratings and accessories is not essential as full product training will be provided
• Ability to understand complex value proposition/ understands a hard sell
• Will not suit a commodity field sales background as our client’s products are expensive
• Battle worn experienced/ robust personality
• Proven track record in field sales , ideally from an associated industry
• Open to civil and drainage merchant backgrounds, but manufacturer field sales experience may be preferred
• An ability to understand the touch points of both the specifiers (including asset owners), and contractors
• Ability to manage territory like its your own business
