Area to be covered: Midlands and North – ideally based M62

Remuneration: £50,000 + 10% Bonus

The role of the Area Sales Manager Timber Frame will involve:

• Technical field sales role promoting the design, manufacture and erection of predominantly timber frame systems as well as roof trusses and engineered flooring
• Focus of your time will be selling into main contractors (not tier ones) and house builder developers
• Typical projects will range between £250,000 to £5m+, with order values up to £1.5m
• Predominantly a new business development role in which you will be expected to leverage your own contacts
• Working alongside the Commercial Manager and estimators generating enquiries, chasing up quotations, negotiating contracts and closing business
• Also tasked to convert some of our client’s existing traditional build customers to timber frame
• You will inherit a small number of priced enquiries that will need chasing down
• Tasked with achieving circa £5m, once established in the role
• Initially you will be required to visit our client’s Yorkshire based office 1-2 times per week

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Timber Frame with:

• Must have sold to housebuilder developers or main contactors
• Timber frame systems field sales experience
• Contacts within housebuilders and private developers +/or main contactors
• Comfortable with a strategic sell rather than a transactional product sell (encompassing both service delivery and product benefits)
• Ability to close large complex deals
• New business hunter with ability to “get in the door”
• An ability to have an input on estimating with a view to developing the scope of a bid to suit individual client needs may be useful
• Technically capable, commercially aware team player
