The role of the Business Development Manager – Timber Frame will involve:

• Field sales position responsible for the sale of timber frame systems and associated timber products such as, roof trusses, wall panels and bespoke timber products
• Typically projects are 60% selling into private homes and 30% affordable homes (although our client anticipates growth in the affordable homes market so sees this as a 45%/ 45% split in 5 years time)
• 10% selling into student accommodation, medical facilities, hotels and education
• Generating business from regional housebuilders, private developers, housing associations, local authorities and main contractors
• This area is currently responsible for approx. £10m turnover
• Target is to double turnover over the next 5 years
• 80% new business development, you will inherit a small project bank and some existing housebuilder and main contractor relationships
• Average project size £700,000 (50 units/ homes), but will consider 10 unit+ projects
• Sales cycles typically 6-8 months
• Liaising with internal technical, design, contracts managers and operations to ensure projects are secured

The ideal applicant will be Business Development Manager – Timber Frame with:

• Must have a proven track record of having sold construction products into housebuilders +/or main contractors
• Ideally sold an associated system to timber frame such as ; structural building solutions, structural steel, steel buildings, modular buildings or related structural building/ building envelope systems
• Experience of having sold in to the affordable houses market advantageous
• Passionate about the carbon neutral agenda
• Comfortable with high value product sales
• Self-motivated and driven with strong planned approach to delivery
• Able to generate new business relationships within a territory with huge potential
• Resilient, driven, self motivated and ambitious personality
