Remuneration: £30,000-£35,000 Neg. + 20-25% Bonus

The role of the Area Sales Manager – Painting & Decorating will involve:
• Field sales role promoting a manufactured and distributed range of decorators’ accessories and painting tools such as; rollers, roller kits, brushes, hand preparation tools etc
• 80% of your time selling into independent painting & decorating stores (majority of these will have only one shop)
• 20% selling into builders & decorating merchants
• 70% account management, 30% new business development (selling new products into existing customers and recruiting new distributors)
• Brand new territory created through growth
• Responsible for an area with a turnover of circa £500,000 and approx 200-250 customer accounts
• Targeted to achieve £550,000 this year
• Working in conjunction with dedicated internal customer service person who will manage small spending accounts for the area
• Five customer visits per day
• Focus of your time will be on customers who spend more that £500 per month (national accounts team looks after large national accounts)
• Perform product training, attending distributor events and trade shows
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Painting & Decorating with:
• Proven field sales track record targeting independent retail showrooms
• Painting and decorating product knowledge is not essential
• Open to other field sales backgrounds such as; flooring, paint, wall coverings, power tools etc.
• May also consider prior experience of having sold into buildings & decorating merchants
• May consider internal sales experience looking for 1st field sales role
• Ideally strong territory management skills
• Knowledge of decorators accessories such as rollers, roller kits, brushes and hand preparation tools is not essential
• Energy, passion and enthusiasm to work in a price orientated market
