Area to be covered: North & Scotland – based North

Remuneration: £55,000-£60,000 + Up to 15% Bonus

Benefits: £7,200 Car Allowance + full benefits package

The role of the Business Development Manager – Cranes and Lifting Systems will involve:

  • Field sales role selling hoisting equipment, crane systems, lifting clamps, winches & material handling solutions
  • Selling to independents or multi-site regional independent distributor customers (Nationally our client has relationships with the likes of HSS, Speedy Hire, GAP Group, Sunbelt Rentals as well as end users such as RS Components
  • Working closely with distributors to strengthen partnerships and expand market presence
  • Revenue responsibility circa £4m
  • Target for Year 1 would be £4m and Year 2 to grow this (our client has an established database of clients across the UK)
  • Sales cycles for the winches and chain lifts can be a as short as a couple of days, however more large complex crane projects can take longer
  • Working within an existing team of 4 field sales professionals
  • This role reflects the company’s plans to deliver even better customer service, developing strong distributor relationships and driving sustainable growth

 

The ideal applicant will be a Business Development Manager – Cranes and Lifting Systems with:

  • Experience in distribution sales within the lifting industry (competitor experience preferred)
  • Specific knowledge of hoisting equipment, crane systems, lifting clamps, winches & material handling solutions may be advantageous
  • Network of contacts within independents or multi-site regional independent distributor customers not essential but may be useful
  • Proven ability to service and support distribution channel partners effectively
  • Strong commercial and technical knowledge of lifting products from manual handling equipment to overhead cranes and bespoke lifting solutions
  • Skilled at identifying and developing new business opportunities through distributors
