Area to be covered: M4 West (Swansea to Reading)

Remuneration: £40,000-£45,000 Neg. + 25% Bonus

Benefits: Fully expensed Hybrid Car or Allowance & Full Benefits

The role of the Area Sales Manager Plumbing, Heating and Pipework will involve:

  • Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of plumbing pipes & fittings, underfloor heating, pre-insulated pipework, district heating and to a lesser extent heat interface units
  • 60% time stimulating demand by selling through local and regional M&E contractors, plumbing and heating contractors etc.
  • 40% of your time back selling through circa 50+ plumbing & heating branches of BSS, Wolseley Pipe Center and some smaller independent commercial plumbing and heating merchants
  • Inheriting an established area with a £2m budget responsibility (area grew 30% in 2023)
  • Minimum 3-4 customer visits per day, 4 days per week
  • Strategic planning for key branches
  • 60% account development, 40% new business prospecting
  • Typical projects include high rise residential apartments, nursing homes, hotels, student accommodation etc.
  • Project sizes from £10,000 to £250,000, with an average size of £15,000-£40,000

 

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Plumbing, Heating and Pipework with:

  • Technical field sales experience with plumbing and heating contractors and distributors
  • Ideally sold to M&E contractors or plumbing and heating merchants
  • Preferably from the commercial HVAC, M&E, building services industry
  • Preferably a manufacturing field sales background, but also open to a distribution field sales background if previously worked for a manufacturer
  • IT Savvy, able to create sales plan
  • Ideally with knowledge of commercial plumbing and heating products such as pipes & fittings, heat interface units, district heating, underfloor heating, pre-insulated pipework, building services etc
  • Energetic self starter capable of handling multiple tasks to deadlines
  • Calm trustworthy and professional approach
