Remuneration: £40,000 + 1% uncapped commission

The role of the Business Development Manager – Educational Furniture will involve:
- Field sales position selling the design and delivery of educational furniture solutions for school/ education laboratories
- Selling / generating specifications into a varied customer base: a) direct to schools via estate managers, business managers and multi academy trust’s own surveyors b) through specification via architect sand c) via the main contactors/ builders
- 80% New business development role, 20% inherited project pipeline
- Leads provided (Barber ABI)
- Project cycles from 12-18 months typical for 1-3 school lab refurbishments
- Problem solving, resolving conflicts and providing solutions to customers’ needs
- Targeted to achieve circa £850k – £1m of new business
- Typical projects would include schools, healthcare and associated industries
The ideal applicant will be a Business Development Manager – Educational Furniture Solutions with:
- Ideally come from an educational furniture field sales background
- Ideally from a specification sales background within the school refurbishment market place
- Open to most educational interior backgrounds
- Specific laboratory furniture product knowledge is not essential
- Understanding of FF&E packages for the education sector
- Understanding of design and fit-out
- CAD experience would be advantageous however not essential
- Highly motivated and able to work on own initiative
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects / problem solving attitude
- Good time management skills, focused and customer service orientated
