Area Sales Manager – Insulation and Builders Merchants
Job Title: Technical Sales Manager – Insulation & Builders Merchants
Industry Sector: Insulation, Reflective Insulation, Multi-Foils, Cavity Closers, Builders Merchants, Buying Groups and Distributors
Area to be covered: Midlands
Remuneration: £35,000 basic £40,000-£45,000 OTE
Benefits: Fully expensed Hybrid Car & full benefits package
The role of the Area Sales Manager – Insulation & Builders Merchants will involve:
- Field sales role promoting our clients manufactured and distributed range of multi-foil insulation, cavity closers, reflective insulation and insulation for the domestic construction market
- Selling into predominantly builders merchants (including buying group members) as well as insulation distributors
- Responsible for customers with multiple branches
- £1-£1.5m m revenue responsibility (currently running slightly below budget due to lack of field sales representation)
- 80% account management role, 20% new business/ recruiting new builders merchant accounts
- Typical accounts turnover between £30,000-£300,000
- 3-5 customer calls per day, visiting clients on either a 4 & 8 or 3 & 6 week cycle
- Carrying out on site and head office training with customers
- Implementing and delivering the company’s current and future trading strategy
- Utilizing our clients’ CRM system to identify client needs, market trends and maintain up to date customer information
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Insulation & Builders Merchants with:
- Ideally with a proven field sales track record of account managing builders merchants
- Open to a sales experience within builders merchants e.g. Branch Managers etc.
- Must have sold building materials
- Insulation knowledge is not essential as full product training will be provided
- Specific knowledge of multi-foil insulation, cavity closers, reflective insulation is not essential but may be useful
- Trading agreement knowledge and experience
- Ability to journey plan and work to company strategy
- Passionate about sales, self motivated (not looking for a milk round)
- IT Literate
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Autonomous in nature
