Remuneration: £36,000-£38,000. + up to £6,000 Commission

The role of the Area Sales Manager Flooring Solutions will involve:

  • Field sales position, selling our clients manufactured range of floor coverings including: safety flooring, resilient flooring (smooth), heterogeneous flooring (smooth) and LVT (luxury vinyl tile)
  • 80-85% of your time winning specifications with architects & interior designers, but also other specifiers such as capital project teams within healthcare, education and social housing/ housing associations
  • Remainder of your time managing the relationships with the substantial amount of flooring contractors and flooring distributors on the area (topping up shade cards within distribution trade counters, dealing with complaints etc.)
  • Inheriting an area with a circa £3.5m turnover, currently performing in line with budget
  • 90%+ of your time will be winning projects within existing relationships
  • Small amount of time will be focused on new business/ new customer relationships
  • Projects can vary in size from a small refurbishment of only £2,000 up to new build hospital which could be as much as £1m


The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Flooring Solutions with:

  • Ideally flooring field sales experience (open to distribution field sales experience)
  • Specification field sales experience is not essential as can be taught
  • Open to interior building product backgrounds such as; fabric, wall coverings, flooring, partitioning, ceilings, lighting and all other aesthetically pleasing interiors
  • Willing to listen and learn
  • Preferably moldable
  • Consultative approach
  • Ability to handle projects from inception right through to completion
  • Understanding of design, flair and creativity
  • IT literate
